Integration of Technology in the Classroom

Purpose and philosophy

After integrating numerous types of technology resources into my instructional practices, I have observed that technology has helped to motivate my students as well as improve their academic outcomes. With that being said, I have designed this website as a resource for educators to use as an instructional tool when incorporating technology into their instructional practices as well.

Ethical use in every situation is a main principal when protecting a student's personal info record. Nonetheless, when integrating technology and the internet in your class, there's over safeguards needed to be done. Thankfully for both instructor and student, laws are in place for protection of their right and responsibility of the student. FERPA is a law for schools to guard and protect student records. Children Privacy Protection Rules also known as COPPA ordinates many online stipulations for a website to ensure safety and a safe environment for the students who are browsing the web. As a teacher, these learning tools are listed to ensure a positive atmosphere for learning and to endorse a safer use of technology in and out of school.

Social Responsibility

When incorporating technology in class, it is highly important to have social responsibility as an instructor and as a student. Having technology in class is a key element to use in the classroom along with having social responsibility. It is highly important to instill social responsibility in the classroom along with having certain rules to go by. To think before you look something up, create a post, or browse the web. The "think rule" is not only teaching students how to have social responsibility, but to also learn the meaning of electronic footprints. THINK method it is also important to discuss the concept of digital footprints. Let the class know that electronic footprints are leaving your date on the web, and once that is done with a post, it is there to stay. You cannot delete it! To include a fast lesson on electronic footprints, have the class search themselves to see what comes up.
